Strawberry Feilds Forever

Let me take you down cause I'm going to strawberry fields....
Wait, let's start at the beginning.
We went strawberry picking a few weeks ago with our adventure buddies. The fields were too muddy so they hauled us in by pickup truck. The boys thought it was a great way to start out.

They actually did pick for a little while before they decided to play tag and duck, duck, goose in the grass next to the strawberry rows.

They didn't get as many as they could have if they hadn't been looking for mostly "really big ones" and "perfect ones". Koa felt this one was picture worthy : )

Baby Bo found herself a perfect one and ate it directly.

There was a point where the picking broke down completely, but it was nice.

Then they found the mud. Froggy boots couldn't be more ideal for mud!

Somehow the mud got everywhere...

And back again with our booty.
Tired, sweaty, muddy but happy.

Come on, could they be anymore the epitome of summer? Rosy cheeks, buzz cuts and fresh picked strawberries.

The next day we froze a bunch of the berries and made some strawberry leather. It turned out pretty good and we like to eat it but have decided that we can get a bigger bang for our buck with jelly and will do that next year instead. Anyway you slice it or dehydrate it the strawberries were yummy! Already looking forward to next year.
