A Snowy Day in Maine

February 5, 2011 to be exact, the day of the Ellsworth Winter Carnival. When you have this much snow and ice you have to embrace it! There was a snow shoe race, sled dogs, cardboard sled races, ice skating, a library book sale and fireworks!

Outside our bathroom window...
View from our front window...

Sled dogs with snow booties on.

The dogs in action.

The boys were pretty disappointed that we found out about the cardboard sledding to late to make an entry...next year. We watched for quite a while though...

Here are some of the most notable entries: This one was definitely the sweetest. It really was made out of cardboard, it went pretty far too.

A monkey in an airplane.

This one was just funny. A flat screen TV box with electrical tape wrapped around it. It went about 5 feet. At least they had an entry.
Lola was cocooned in her new pink snow suit from the Worthens, strapped on and zipped in. She slept the whole time.

Handsome Kai.

The sidewalk on High Street. The Ellsworth luge track. We love our town in all kinds of weather.
