A Happy 4th of July

We decided to go on an all day boating adventure with our friends and left at 8:00 in the morning. We finally got out on the water 11ish after we had a mishap launching a boat : ) There was spinning tires on the sandy beach, digging, lodging, pushing, towing and finally a trip up the road to a different launch. We wondered if we should even go out at all after the rough morning (and the fog that was still hanging around) but we did anyway and had one of the funnest days! We went cruising around the Porcupine Isles in Frenchman's Bay. We beached on an island for lunch and watched the fog clear and a really beautiful day unfold.
The beach was not sandy but full of really pretty pebbles. Guess you could call it "Pebble Beach"

Bo tasting the salty rocks.

While we we were on the little island the boys buried a "treasure" of quarters and a few dollars in a nacho cheese tin. Koa gave one of the coins a kiss for luck.

The spot, the date and the time : )

The boys took their nap right on time, even if it was on the bottom of a boat during a bumpy wave ride.

We docked in Bar Harbor and walked around town a little (on the busiest day of the year for the little town.)
On the green overlooking the bay.

Sun kissed cheeks and an apple.

The family with our treasure island behind us.

We waited for the fireworks as long as we could but they started really late and we had to head back so the boys watched the fireworks from the boat as we sped home. It was the perfect way to spend the day together-so much fun!
