We loaded everyone up for an ocean side adventure and headed for Bar Harbor. The ocean side adventure lasted about 30 seconds. It was way too cold and everyone wanted to get back in the car. We took a driving tour of the town and decided to head home but ran into the University of the Atlantic and their mini museum! On the way in Brian and the boys found this really awesome swing!
Callahan ridin' high.
We got to have the "tide pool" experience we had hoped for. There were crabies and starfish and sea cucumbers and other cool stuff.
Koa with a little starfish.
The boys checking out the panoramas of Maine wildlife.
Liam communing with a seal.
One of the favorite panoramas was this one with an otter eating a snake...blood and all.
Giant whale skull outside the museum.
Yes, we had another lobster boil.
And a great fire,we just seem to have a lot to burn!
A few days before Thanksgiving was pie night at the church. We felt a little bad that we didn't have a home made pie to bring so Jason invented this pumpkin pie with marshmallows melted on top and also another one with whipped cream and crumbled Butterfinger candy bar on top. The Butterfinger one was the biggest hit.
Ice cream on the stairs. Uncle Brian and cousin Liam.
Waiting for Thanksgiving dinner to start....
Cousin Callahan's Cave.
Kissin' cousin.
We had our Thanksgiving feast a day early so we could "relax" the day before the cousins had to leave. So Jason and Brian decided to trim the tree that kept dropping branches on our cars. There were really long ladders, chainsaws, climbing equipment and other ropes involved. The next door neighbor, who is a nurse, said that she was monitoring the situation from her kitchen window ready to administer first aid if it was needed. It was never needed and our cars are much safer now.
The boys trying on daddy's climbing stuff.
Cuddling cousins.
The last meal together, Hawaiian Kalua Pork and pineapple with Thanksgiving left overs and Lobster bisque-another Jason creation.
